Blue German Chamomile Essential Oil

Chamomile is an age-old medicinal herb known in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. At that time, people turned to it as a remedy for numerous medical complaints including asthma, colic, fevers, inflammations, nausea, nervous complaints, children’s ailments, skin diseases and cancer. Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiphlogistic, antispasmodic, bactericidal, carminative, cicatrizant, digestive, febrifuge, fungicidal, hepatic, nerve sedative, stomachic, sudorific, vermifuge. This essential oil reduces stress. Chamomile German is also an excellent anti-inflammatory and can assist with nasal allergies, cuts, wounds and muscle, tendon and ligament pain. It is one of my favorite oils to add to a warm, relaxing bath.

Use: Roman Chamomile Essential Oil is traditionally used as a relaxant and antidepressant. It has been used to reduce preoperative anxiety, and also to help relieve the mood swings associated with premenstrual syndrome. It is also commonly used to help treat acne, allergies, boils, burns, cuts, dermatitis, earache, eczema, inflammations, insect bites, rashes, sensitive skin, teething pain, toothache, wounds, arthritis, inflamed joints, muscular pain, neuralgia, rheumatism and sprains.

Blue Roman Camomile oil is a very powerful anti-inflammatory agent due to the presence of a compound called Azulene.

Blue chamomile can be applied topically, as a compress, in the bath and through direct inhalation, or diffuser. In a bath: 2 drops blue chamomile, 2 drops lavender in warm bath water.

Blends Well With: Labdanum, bergamot, citrus oils, clary sage, frankincense, geranium, jasmine, lavender, marjoram, neroli, patchouli, rose, rosemary, tea tree, ylang ylang.
